AZUSA, Calif. (KABC) -- Evacuation orders were lifted for more communities on Friday as firefighters were getting ahold of the 5,200-acre San Gabriel Complex Fire above Azusa and Duarte.
Mountain Cove and Rainbow Ranch residents were allowed to return home at noon, Azusa police said, and horses were able to return Saturday at 8 a.m.
Two fires, dubbed the Fish Fire and Reservoir Fire, broke out Monday and charred up to 5,267 acres as of Friday afternoon. The fires were at 30 percent containment, according to Los Angeles County Fire officials.
Residents living in Azusa and Duarte were forced to evacuate, but most returned within days.
Officials said intense firefighting saved Monrovia from direct threat, but residents in the northeast section of the city were urged to remain vigilant and be ready to evacuate if conditions change.
