Pedestrian fatally struck by vehicle in San Pedro

SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Pedro Thursday night, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The crash happened at about 8:30 p.m. in the 1000 block of West First Street.

LAFD officials said the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. It was not clear if the unidentified pedestrian was in a crosswalk at the time of the crash.

Authorities said this is not a hit-and-run investigation. It's not known if the driver will face any citations.
