PARIS (KABC) -- Dozens of people were killed in multiple acts of violence across Paris on Friday, including shootings at restaurants and a hostage-taking at a music theater.

At least 127 were killed in a series of six planned attacks spread throughout Paris. About 300 were hospitalized, many critically, including Americans.

In online statements, ISIS claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks.

Memorials lined the attack sites in Paris the morning after the attacks, and the city remained in a state of emergency. Museums, landmarks, schools and the city's borders were closed indefinitely.
