CAMARILLO, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters battled a second-alarm brush fire that threatened three homes along a river bottom in Camarillo Sunday night.
The 3-acre blaze broke out in the 1600 block of Avenida De Aprisa. A red flag warning was issued in the area as strong Santa Ana winds swept across most of the Southland.
A helicopter was launched and firefighters set up protections around the structures as they dealt with 30 mph winds.
The fire was knocked down within 20 minutes. Firefighters mopped up hot spots and would continue to survey the area overnight.
