PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) -- Pasadena has a new mayor for the first time in nearly two decades.
Councilman Terry Tornek won Tuesday's mayoral runoff election, getting around 55 percent of the vote.
Tornek is Pasadena's first new mayor in 16 years.
Outgoing Mayor Bill Bogaard decided to retire after four terms. Tornek beat Vice Mayor and Councilmember Jacque Robinson.
In a separate council race for District 1, Tyron Hampton is ahead of Calvin Wells by 63 votes, with all seven of seven precincts reporting.
More mail in ballots still need to be counted. There will then be a recount in the close contest.
