LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Trayvon Martin's parents visited Los Angeles on Saturday to lead a peace march, more than one year after the Florida man accused of killing Martin was found not guilty.

The Trayvon Martin Foundation hosted a peace walk and discussion at Crenshaw High School. It was part of the organization's mission to prevent racial profiling and help the victims of senseless gun violence.

"It's important that we come out to L.A. because just like Trayvon was profiled in Florida, we have our young people being profiled in L.A., and we want L.A. to know that we stand with you, we understand and we support you," said Sybrina Fulton, Martin's mother.

Martin was shot and killed in February 2012 during a scuffle with George Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain.

Martin was unarmed. The case ignited racial tensions across the nation.
