Woman slashed in face in East Los Angeles
A woman suffered serious injuries after being slashed in the face and thrown out of a vehicle in East Los Angeles Monday.

EAST LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A woman suffered serious injuries after being slashed in the face and thrown out of a vehicle in East Los Angeles Monday afternoon, Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies said.

The victim was pushed out of a vehicle at the intersection of Cesar Chavez Avenue and Indiana Street near the Evergreen Cemetery around 1:40 p.m.

Initial reports indicated her throat was slashed, but Eyewitness News has learned the woman had the side of her face cut.

She was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition. A description of the suspect or vehicle was not immediately available.

Investigators say the victim was interviewed, but refused to cooperate with deputies. The investigation is ongoing.
