LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Oscar-winning actress Octavia Spencer has been awarded a $940,000 default judgment in her lawsuit against weight-loss company Sensa.

After she lost 20 pounds, Spencer said Sensa began trying to find ways to avoid paying her and terminated her contract. The actress sued the company in August 2013.

In countersuits, Sensa said Spencer failed to abide by her agreement regarding promotions.

The company said Spencer refused to allow the use of photographs in ads of her before and after her weight loss. Under the agreement, Spencer was also obligated to make at least two Twitter posts a month concerning Sensa products.

Stern dismissed the countersuit Wednesday.

It's unlikely the actress will see payment anytime soon given Sensa's current financial problems.

"Good luck in collecting on this case," Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Stern told Spencer's attorneys. "Maybe you can sell the product at a garage sale."
