A suspect was taken into custody and an officer was injured with an arrow after a barricade situation led to an officer-involved shooting in North Hollywood, police said.

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A suspect was taken into custody and an officer was injured with an arrow after a barricade situation led to an officer-involved shooting in North Hollywood Sunday evening, police said.

Los Angeles police said officers responded to a call about an assault with a deadly weapon and shots fired in the 5100 block of Bakman Avenue near Magnolia Boulevard and Tujunga Avenue when it was reported at about 7 p.m.

The suspect, who was wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, was barricaded. Police asked people in the neighborhood to stay inside their homes during the barricade situation.

At some point during the incident, an officer-involved shooting occurred and the officer was struck by an arrow fired by the suspect.

The suspect was taken into custody and the officer was taken to a hospital, where he was treated and was later released.

The suspect was not injured.
