VENICE, Calif. (KABC) -- One man was injured and transported to a hospital after an officer-involved shooting in Venice, authorities said.
Officers with the Los Angeles Police Department opened fire during the incident Wednesday around 6 p.m. near Thornton Place and Pacific Avenue.
The suspect is in his 30s and was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Police said they responded to a disturbance call and made contact with the suspect in an alley and attempted to de-escalate the situation. The man was armed "unknown objects," police said.
No officers were injured in the incident.
