ONTARIO, Calif. (KABC) -- Ontario fire crews rescued a 37-year-old man after he got stuck about 7 feet down in a narrow trench Monday.
The man was replacing a sewer connection near his home on Armsley Square between Fifth and Sixth Streets when he got stuck. Fire department tactical rescue teams from Ontario and Chino Hills arrived at 4:25 p.m.
Fire officials said the ground was damp from recent rains and partially collapsed on the man and when they arrived he was buried up to his waist in debris.
It took about two hours to get the man out, according to Ontario Battalion Chief Bob Snow. The man was not seriously hurt, but was taken to a nearby hospital for an evaluation.
