Man, teen arrested on suspicion of carjacking in Oxnard

OXNARD, Calif. (KABC) -- Oxnard police officers arrested a 24-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of carjacking early Sunday morning.

Authorities received a call around 1:52 a.m. on reports of a carjacking that occurred near Community Center Park West, near 7th Street and Hobson Way.

When officers arrived to the scene, the suspect had fled in the victim's car. During the search for the suspect, authorities contacted two males and a female who were believed to be involved.

The adult suspect was identified as Alejandro Avila Arroyo, of Oxnard, and the other male was a 16-year-old boy. Arroyo was arrested on suspicion of carjacking and possession of stolen property, while the teen was arrested on suspicion of carjacking.
