LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 26-year-old man was sentenced to six months in jail for stealing part of the car actor Paul Walker was in when he died.

Anthony Edward Janow was charged with grand theft of personal property, destroying evidence and resisting, obstructing and delaying a peace officer.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Lloyd Nash also sentenced Janow to three years formal probation following his release from jail.

A second man, 19-year-old Jameson Brooks Witty, was sentenced to six months in county jail and three years formal probation on Aug. 14.

Walker was killed when the Porsche Carrera GT he was in crashed, bursting into flames on Nov. 30, 2013

Janow and Witty are accused of taking a roof panel off the car when a tow truck was at a stop light in Valencia.

"The theft occurred after Witty and Janow were told by a Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy they could not take any part of the vehicle," the L.A. County District Attorney's Office said in a statement.
