Firefighters rescue kittens stuck inside drain pipe in Toluca Lake

TOLUCA LAKE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Los Angeles firefighters descended on an apartment complex in Toluca Lake overnight to save three kittens stuck inside a drain pipe.

Neighbors called the fire department after hearing meowing for hours. Responding firefighters found the three kittens, who apparently got separated from their mother and went on an adventure.

"We have another member up on the roof who found the mother cat and two more kittens, so all together we had six cats," said Scott Lazar of the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Animal control officials took the kittens in for an evaluation and say they're doing just fine. The kittens will be put up for adoption in a few weeks.
