RAPID CITY, S.D. -- Instead of a ticket, one unsuspecting driver walked away from a traffic stop with something much more exciting: an engagement ring on her finger.
To be fair, though, the traffic stop wasn't completely legitimate.
Rather, it was a ploy staged by Rapid City, South Dakota police officer Nick Allender to propose to his now-fiancee Sarah Stewart, who also works for the city as a firefighter/paramedic.
Allender enlisted the help of fellow officer Dan Anderson, who initiated the traffic stop this past Wednesday.
After Anderson lured Stewart out of her vehicle, Allender appeared, ring at the ready, to pop the question to Stewart -- all in full view of the dashcam.
Once Stewart accepts, the two lovebirds share a loving embrace.
Footage of the heartwarming moment has since gone viral, garnering over 1,500 shares on Facebook and attracting well wishes for the happy couple from around the world.
