LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- One lucky voter could win $25,000 in cash for turning out for the Los Angeles Unified School District school board election on Tuesday.

Southwest Voter Registration Education Project, a non-profit, non-partisan political activism group, says it hopes a cash prize will stimulate voter turnout for the District 5 election between incumbent Bennett Kayser and challenger Ref Rodriguez.

The randomly selected winner will be chosen from a drawing scheduled for June 10.

Polls close at 8 p.m.
