AI tools can transform resumes for job seekers. Here's what to know

Artificial intelligence gets a lot of the blame for the sluggish job market, but that same technology can turn a rough resume into a polished profile. Especially if you don't always have the right words yourself.

"Not everybody is great at crafting the language that maybe will help them in terms of how it's well-positioned or packaged on a resume or a Linkedin profile. So I think there it plays a significant role for helping individuals do that," said recruiter Becky Heidesch.

Experts say using the tech has become a no-brainer, but keep in mind: if everyone is using it, resumes can start to look and sound alike.

"That is where the individual needs to step in. It's a tool like everything else. It can help give a framework of what to lay out. But then you really do have to customize based on your experience, based on your skills."

And AI does make mistakes so proofreading is a must, and at the end of the day, personal connections can still matter the most.

"They should be networking online with talent acquisition professionals or individual recruiters who focus on that particular space, and the individuals that are hiring for the roles and jobs that they are qualified for."
