GLENDALE, Calif. (KABC) -- A thief played himself off as a browsing customer and walked out with thousands of dollars in goods at a Glendale store.
Now, the owner of Qualité Los Angeles is sharing the video of the crime with Eyewitness News.
It happened on Friday at the high-end clothing boutique in Glendale's quaint Kenneth Village. The owner says the suspect walked in, asked about sizes, and took off with thousands of dollars in merchandise.
Manager Anthony Montes says a man walked in around 7 p.m., inquiring about a Travis Scott shirt and then looking around at different shoes.
The owner says the suspect claimed he had a budget of $500. When the suspect asked for a size that wasn't on the store floor, that's when the owner was in for a surprise.
"I went to the back to grab his size and heard like, clothes rustling, and came back onto the floor, and he was gone. I went outside, and everyone outside, all the families and kids, they told me that he got in his getaway car," Montes said.
Montes says the suspect got away with about $10,000 worth of merchandise, including a rare Pikachu plush, Chrome Hearts shirts and Travis Scott gear.
He says the suspect was wearing earbuds and thought he was listening to music, but could have been talking to the getaway driver. He took off in an older, white BMW 330 with black rims.
The store filed a report with Glendale police.
