CHP chases driver going over 100 mph on 101 Freeway in LA

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver surpassed 100 mph while fleeing the California Highway Patrol during a chase on the 101 Freeway through Los Angeles Tuesday night.

AIR7 was over the pursuit around 10:40 p.m. as CHP officers followed the speeding SUV in the Tarzana area.

The chase initially began in Ventura County and headed south, going through the San Fernando Valley, Hollywood and Echo Park.

CHP continued its pursuit as the suspect approached downtown L.A. while fleeing at speeds over 100 mph.

At that point, foggy conditions in the area prevented AIR7 from following the chase.

It's unclear if the suspect was later apprehended.
