Chase ends in violent Compton crash; suspects arrested after running from scene

COMPTON, Calif. (KABC) -- A chase involving Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies ended in a crash in Compton after the fleeing vehicle collided with two other cars.

The crash occurred just before 2:30 p.m. near Santa Fe Avenue and Myrrh Street. Authorities said the suspects were in a reported stolen vehicle.

After the crash, the suspects exited the vehicle and ran from the scene. Deputies took them into custody after a foot chase.

The number of suspects was not immediately available.

Authorities said several people involved in the crash were transported to local hospitals, but the exact number of victims and the extent of their injuries were not immediately known.
