DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- You now have some more time grab a meal at one of the oldest restaurants in Los Angeles before it closes.
Cole's French Dip in downtown was supposed to close a couple of months ago, but their lease was extended. Now, the restaurant says it will remain open through Dec. 31.
"Based on continued support from our guests and the community, Cole's has decided to stay open for the holiday season," the iconic restaurant said in an Instagram post. "We have fielded multiple requests for holiday events and it's always our favorite time of year to enjoy Cole's warm environment."
When Cole's owner Cedd Moses announced in early July that the restaurant was closing, he said there were several reasons for the decision, including the rising cost of labor, crime, the actors and writers strikes and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Cole's has been serving up French dips since 1908.
