SHERMAN OAKS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A deer was struck and killed on the 405 Freeway in Sherman Oaks overnight.
The incident happened around 2 a.m. near the Getty Center exit. The deer wandered onto the road when the driver of a Honda struck and killed the animal.
The California Highway Patrol says a second vehicle was involved in the crash, and one car spun out and hit a wall along the freeway.
No injuries apart from the deer were reported.
Meanwhile, we are not yet in the peak season of deer-vehicle collisions, which typically peaks from October through December.
The most dangerous time of day for run-ins with deer is right before and after sunrise and sunset.
