BURBANK, Calif. (KABC) -- Hundreds of toys are headed to children in need in Los Angeles this holiday season, thanks to friends at Disney.
Our Eyewitness News team joined Disney cast members Wednesday at the company's Burbank studio lot for a special event, benefitting ABC7's Spark of Love Toy Drive.
All this week, Disney invited its employees to inspire hope and bring joy to children by donating new, unwrapped toys and sports equipment.
Wednesday, Disney presented the Los Angeles Fire Department with its donations, which will help children and teens in need, including families impacted by the Eaton and Palisades fires.
Mickey and Minnie Mouse were on hand for Wednesday's event, which also saw Eyewitness News anchors Marc Brown, Phillip Palmer, Rob Fukuzaki and reporter Niku Kazori helping collect donations.
The collection was part of Disney's seasonal campaign, which encourages everyone to "Make Someone's Holiday Magic."
Disney's holiday campaign celebrates the joy of giving, and the powerful connection that countless people share with Disney during this special time of year.
The company kicked off its celebration earlier this season with the release of "A Disney Holiday Short: Best Christmas Ever" online and on Disney+.
Last month as part of the celebration, Disney also embarked on a Holiday Magic Tour that brought Stitch to Los Angeles and other cities around the world, bringing holiday cheer through donations, community activations, surprises and other moments of joy for children and families everywhere.
