
GARDENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A driver who left the scene of a deadly hit-and-run crash in Gardena Sunday has surrendered to authorities, according to police.
The collision happened just before 10:30 p.m. along Western Avenue near 149th Street.
Police said the victim, who was identified only as a woman, was crossing the street when she was hit. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified, fled the scene but later surrendered and was subsequently arrested, the department said.
The crash remains under investigation.
