"Good Morning America" is searching for the best cups of hot cocoa across the U.S., making a stop at the beloved churro shop.

ECHO PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- "Good Morning America" is searching for the best cups of hot cocoa across the country, making a stop at Churrería El Moro in Echo Park.
The beloved churro shop with roots in Mexico City is opening a new location in Los Angeles this week. The Echo Park shop follows the brand's first Southern California location in Costa Mesa.
El Moro, known for its churros and a growing menu of hot chocolates, began nearly a century ago in Mexico City with the family of current owner Santiago Iriarte.
The business has since expanded its offerings to include seven types of hot chocolate for both drinking and dipping, along with additional food and sweet treats.
"We're very excited," said Iriarte. "The thing is back home, the people in the food industry are always thinking about bringing brands from the U.S., and we were very excited to know that El Moro would be exported to the U.S., so the fact that here in L.A., there's' such a big Hispanic community was a trigger for us to explore the opportunity and now being ready to open in Echo Park, a very, very beloved neighborhood by the community ... we're excited."
El Moro's grand opening in Echo Park is scheduled for Thursday at 5 p.m. The shop will offer free churros all day with the purchase of any beverage.
