SAN PEDRO, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A driver crashed into a power pole in San Pedro overnight, leading to a service outage for more than 2,000 customers Tuesday.
The fiery crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. on North Pacific Avenue, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police say it appears the driver took the corner too fast and hit the power pole, bringing down wires in the area before the vehicle erupted in flames.
According to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power outage map, slightly more than 2,000 customers in the area were left without power as of 5:30 a.m. It's unclear when service will be restored.
