SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A homeless man in South Los Angeles is going viral after he built a three-story treehouse that was later torn down by authorities.
The treehouse was reportedly built using scavenged materials from a nearby homeless encampment.
It reportedly included a mezzanine and an enclosed place to sleep. On Monday, ABC7 learned a new treehouse is being constructed.
"It started off slowly with a ladder ... and then he had a full blown house within the next week or two," said a man who spoke with Eyewitness News on Monday. He runs a TikTok account called "On The Block News" and did not wish to be identified. "He lived up there quite a while."
The man who built the treehouse was not there when ABC7 stopped by.
Eyewitness News has reached out to Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass' office and are awaiting a response.
