Circa Queer History Festival celebrates LGBTQ+ legacy
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- The Circa: Queer Histories Festival 2026 is set to kick off on Thursday, Sept. 24, through Thursday, Oct. 31.
This is the first and only queer histories festival in the United States.
The festival features 40 plus free to low-cost programs celebrating queer and trans history, art, and culture across Los Angeles County.
This year's programming includes a screening of the queer cult phenomenon The Rocky Horror Picture Show at The Ford produced in partnership with Street Food Cinema and One Institute.
Come out to experience weekly tours highlighting works by LACMA's LGBTQ+ artists through the museum's "Visible and Vibrant" series.
The festival's performances and workshops, led by queer and trans thinkers and doers contributing to history in the making, invite audiences to gather, learn, and celebrate.
Don't miss the festival launch and opening reception for Circa's headlining exhibition, "Hold Each Other's Hands," co-presented with OXY ARTS. The festival kicks off Thursday, September 24, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. for a celebration with a hosted bar and light bites.
