2nd brush fire in Antelope Valley triggers evacuation warning

FAIRMONT, Calif. (KABC) -- A second brush fire broke out in the Antelope Valley on Saturday evening, triggering evacuation warnings for some residents.

The Juno Fire is burning in the Fairmont area at Lancaster Road and Munz Ranch Road.

The fire is at least 149 acres and growing at a rapid rate of spread, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department. It quickly grew from an initial 30 acres.

An evacuation warning is in place for nearby residents.

The Juno Fire is burning several miles away from the Summit Fire, which has been active since Friday afternoon.

The Summit Fire grew to 2,690 acres, triggering evacuation warnings and orders for nearby residents.

By Saturday, crews had made progress on the fire, but the evacuations remained in place.
