
MACARTHUR PARK, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- LAPD officers on Wednesday morning were involved in an ongoing standoff with a person who barricaded themself in a MacArthur Park restroom after possibly simulating having a firearm, authorities said.
The standoff began about 9:20 a.m. at the sprawling park near the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Alvarado Street, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson said.
No gunshots were fired during the incident and no injuries were reported, the spokesperson said.
Authorities were not aware of anyone else being inside the restroom with the suspect, according to the LAPD.
The park remained open during the barricade situation.
