
LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Southern California is remembering the late Kobe Bryant in honor of "Mamba Day."
August 24 - often stylized as 8/24 - is the day after the basketball legend's birthday and matches the numbers he wore with the Lakers.
Kobe would've turned 47 on Saturday.
Los Angeles is filled with hundreds of murals honoring Kobe and his daughter Gianna. The two were among nine people killed in a helicopter crash in January 2020.
The website kobemural.com has curated a list of locations of all public Kobe and Gigi murals in L.A.
There's also a statue of Kobe and Gigi outside Crypto.com Arena in downtown L.A.
Across the street at Peacock Place at L.A. Live, future men's and women's basketball stars are competing in the annual Mamba League Invitational, which kicked off Saturday.
Don't forget to visit the Santa Monica Pier where the 90-foot Ferris wheel will feature displays of purple and cold colors in a variety of patterns and transitions in honor of Kobe.
