Motorcyclist goes airborne after crash, lives

CLEARWATER, Fla. (KABC) -- A motorcyclist in Florida walked away uninjured after being hit at a busy intersection and cartwheeling through the air.

The accident happened in Clearwater near Tampa on May 24, and cameras at the intersection caught the whole thing on video. The biker, identified as Michael Smith, is seen flipping over the hood, going airborne, tumbling, and then casually walking away.

"I'm walking to make sure everything is cool, you know? I'm like, that was real, you know what I mean? What just happened was real. My bike, Lindsay Lohan, is down," Smith said.

Lindsay Lohan is the name of his bike.

Clearwater police say the driver was ticketed for an improper left turn and a suspended license.

Smith says the incident hasn't scared him from getting back on a motorcycle. He says he can't wait to buy a new bike.
