New Selena mural pops up outside Grammy Museum ahead of new exhibit

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A new mural of Tejano music legend Selena Quintanilla-Pérez is being painted as Los Angeles prepares to honor the late singer with a special pop-up exhibit.

The mural is located outside the Grammy Museum on Olympic Boulevard, which is set to launch the exhibit next year.

"Selena: From Texas to the World" was curated in close collaboration with Suzette Quintanilla, Selena's sister and president of Q Productions.

It will display personal artifacts from the Selena Museum in Corpus Christi, Texas and will mark the first time the items have been shown outside of Selena's home state.

The new mural is being painted by an artist known as Mister Toledo on Instagram.

"Final details are being painted, and the portrait is almost complete," he wrote in a post on Monday.

The exhibit runs from Jan. 15 to March 16.
