Man found dead in Pacific Palisades, prompting investigation

PACIFIC PALISADES, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Detectives are investigating after a man was found dead in Pacific Palisades Tuesday afternoon.

Officers responded to the scene after a caller reported the incident around 2 p.m. in the 17100 block of Palisades Circle, near a complex of townhomes, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Footage from the scene showed a white tent covering the victim, and crime-scene tape blocking access to a road in the neighborhood.

Police initially said the man was killed in a hit-and-run crash, but a detective later told Eyewitness News that the death was not the result of a hit-and-run. The detective added that the case is not being investigated as a homicide or a suspicious death.

Further details on the case have not been released. An investigation is ongoing.
