GARDENA, Calif. (KABC) -- A pedestrian was hit by a car after a hydrant crash flooded a street in Gardena with water, and the moment was caught on video.
The incident unfolded July 23 when a semi-truck backed up and crashed into the fire hydrant, sending water shooting into the air and flooding nearby businesses.
The owner of Elite Auto Collision says one of his employees then ran across the street and was hit by a driver who was trying to make their way through a geyser of water.
The employee wasn't seriously hurt, but the flooding caused extensive damage to equipment and the building. The shop is closed until repairs are complete.
