
SOUTH LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Police shot and injured a suspect early Sunday morning during a burglary investigation in South Los Angeles.
It happened just before 2 a.m. near the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and 10th Avenue where they came across the suspect armed with a firearm.
"There was an exchange of gunfire between the suspect and officers," said police in a statement posted on X. "The suspect was struck but able to flee on foot."
Police said the suspect ran for about two blocks before he was taken into custody. He was sent to the hospital where he remains hospitalized in stable condition.
No other injuries were reported. The incident remains under investigation.
