BOYLE HEIGHTS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A search was underway Sunday for a man who police say opened fire on officers in Boyle Heights overnight.
The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. after officers responded to call about an armed man in the area of North Myers Street near the 101 Freeway, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
When they arrived, police say a man took out a rifle and shot at them before fleeing the scene.
Officers shot back. No officers were injured, according to authorities.
A large perimeter was set up around the area as K-9 teams and SWAT searched the area.
Multiple individuals were detained, LAPD said, but investigators were trying to determine whether they were involved in the incident.
