LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- SoCalGas has laid off some workers, the company confirmed Friday.
It's unclear exactly how many employees were let go or what positions were affected, but in a statement, a spokesperson for the company said the move is part of recent "regulatory outcomes" and "evolving business needs."
"As we navigate a changing regulatory and economic environment, SoCalGas is taking steps to align our operations with recent regulatory outcomes and evolving business needs, which includes reducing approximately 2% of our workforce," read the statement. "We are providing support to impacted employees through this transition."
According to SoCalGas' website, the company has 8,000 employees.
