Man rescued from LA River after SUV crashes, overturns in Valley Village, firefighters say

VALLEY VILLAGE, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A 35-year-old man was rescued from the L.A. River after firefighters said an SUV crashed and overturned in the water.

The crash happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Saturday off North Coldwater Canyon Avenue in Valley Village. Video from the scene shows an SUV upside down in the water.

The driver was outside the vehicle when crews arrived at the scene, and he was taken to the hospital.

A tow truck pulled the SUV out of the water.

There was no word on the driver's condition or what exactly caused the crash.
