LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Triple-digit heat and sticky humidity are slamming Southern California and there is a chance for thunderstorms in some areas on Monday.
Be prepared for a scorcher of a week. A Head Advisory is in effect for Los Angeles and Ventura counties until Tuesday at 10 a.m.
An Extreme Heat watch for most of Southern California and the Central Coast begins Tuesday at 10 a.m. to Thursday at 8 p.m.
Humidity is something that we're going to be dealing with on Monday because of the monsoonal moisture and that combination is bringing us a chance of thunderstorms for some areas.
With the humidity also sticking around this week, it'll be harder for your body to cool itself down so be sure to drink plenty of water.
The heat comes after several fires broke out over the last few days. Fire crews battled three different fires over the weekend. Riverside County, a small vegetation fire broke out Sunday in the Juniper Springs area. Firefighters put it out within hours.
Then, a two-alarm fire burned 30 acres in Fairmont on Saturday before crews put it out. But the Summit Fire burning on the border of L.A. and San Bernardino counties is the largest and most active. It has burned nearly 2,700 acres since it broke out near Llano last Friday. It's also impacting the neighborhoods near Wrightwood.
All evacuation orders were lifted Sunday and containment is up to 31%, but fire crews say active winds could be a factor Monday.
