Trump to honor Artemis II astronauts at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas -- The Artemis II crew is getting big recognition from President Donald Trump this week.

NASA announced that the four-person crew will receive the Congressional Space Medal of Honor during a ceremony on Friday.

The event will be held at the agency's Johnson Space Center in Houston.

NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, and Christina Koch, and Canadian astronaut Jeremy Hansen, completed a 10-day mission around the moon back in April, marking the first time humans returned to the moon in more than 50 years.

The Artemis II crew is still adjusting to life on Earth, not just with their bodies, but also dealing with the amount of attention the mission has given them.

The agency said NASA Administrator Jared Isaacman will join the Trump and astronauts during the ceremony at 10 a.m. CT/11 a.m. EDT.
