Violent head-on crash in Orange County leaves driver dead and 3 others injured, including child

SANTIAGO CANYON, Calif. (KABC) -- A violent head-on crash in Orange County left a driver dead and three others injured, including a child.

It happened just after 1 p.m. on Santiago Canyon Road, just north of Silverado Canyon.

Details are limited, but according to a California Highway Patrol officer, the driver died at the scene and the others were sent to the hospital in unknown conditions.

Investigators are working to determine why one of the vehicles veered onto oncoming traffic.
