Woman allegedly stabbed by sister with wine glass in Simi Valley, police say

SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (KABC) -- A 67-year-old woman is facing charges after she allegedly stabbed her sister in the neck at a home in Simi Valley.

Officers responded to the home on Katherine Road just after 11:15 p.m. Tuesday and rushed the victim to the hospital, according to the Simi Valley Police Department.

Investigators believe she was giving her sister, Randy Mellin, a haircut when Mellin broke a wine glass and attacked her. The victim is expected to be OK.

Mellin was arrested and booked in the Ventura County Jail for attempted murder.
