LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Three men were injured in a shooting in the Rampart area of Los Angeles that was sparked by a dispute, police said.

There were two crime scenes, but police said the majority of the shots were fired near West Temple and North Park View streets around 3:15 a.m. After the shooting, the victims ran down the street to a nearby Mobil gas station a few blocks away.

Witnesses Mario Reyes, who works at the nearby Temple Park Convalescent Hospital, said he heard five shots and saw two men running - one holding his hand.

Police confirm that a couple of the victims were shot in the hand and one of them was grazed in the forehead. All injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

Investigators are searching for two or three suspects with possible gang ties, but they did not have good descriptions to work with.

Police initially reported the shooting as being linked to a carjacking, but it's unclear if that's actually what occurred. Investigators have not confirmed where they got the carjacking details from.
