MONTEREY PARK, Calif. (KABC) -- Detectives are seeking the public's help finding the gunmen who shot and killed two men nearly nine months ago in the Rancho Dominguez area.

Last May, two men were gunned down in a vehicle in the 17600 block of Santa Fe Avenue.

Homicide detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department hope someone will recognize the two men depicted in newly released composite sketches.

Jenniffer Jimenez lost her son, 18-year-old Omar Williams.

"My son was a great kid. He was lovable; he cherished his sister and his family," Jimenez said during a news conference. "He didn't deserve this, and it's like our bright light is gone now."

The other victim killed was 20-year-old Jason Pia. According to family, he and Williams grew up like cousins.

Both were shot while driving on Sante Fe Avenue at the 91 Freeway during broad daylight. Their car then crashed into another on the road.

Their families are pleading for the public's help.

"I miss them a lot. I loved them," said Williams' cousin Treyvon Abner. "Just wish they could still be here."

The suspects were seen driving off from the shooting scene in a large dark-colored SUV. According to witnesses that day, there were up to four suspects in that SUV.

Detectives say the victims had bright futures. Williams was attending junior college. Pia had a 3-year-old son and was in training with Southern California Edison.

"Someone had to see something," Jimenez said.

Their families hope with these images being shared, that someone will come forward.

If you recognize the men depicted in the composite sketches, you're urged to call the L.A. County Sheriff's Department at (323) 890-5500.
