ROSAMOND, Calif. (KABC) -- Firefighters in Rosamond had to deal with high winds as they tried to put out a fire threatening several mobile homes and businesses.

The unoccupied units in the 1800 block of Harvell Place caught fire shortly before 11:30 p.m. Monday.

It took 90 minutes for Kern County firefighters to extinguish the fire because of the strong winds and heavy embers.

Crews were able to limit the damage to six modular buildings. An additional 30 buildings were saved.

The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
