SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- A code enforcement officer was bitten multiple times on her arm and legs by three dogs hiding underneath a motor home in San Bernardino on Thursday.

The female code enforcement officer headed to a mobile home in the 1300 block of North Mt. Vernon Avenue.

When she knocked on the door, three dogs that were tethered together came out from underneath the home and attacked her. She was taken to a nearby hospital. Her condition was unknown.

The dogs had no food or water, authorities said. The owners, a man and woman, were taken into police custody and face animal cruelty charges.
