SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (KABC) -- The search is on for the thieves who stole an estimated $100,000 in valuable training equipment from a fire station in San Bernardino.

The suspects targeted the station on Mill Street and Arrowhead Avenue which has been closed for budget reductions. The gear was used for swift water rescues and other critical life-saving missions.

"We are not going to perform to our full capabilities with the loss of this equipment," Battalion Chief Alan Duggan said.

The burglary was discovered Friday morning when a crew arrived to pick up the training equipment.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with any information was urged to contact the San Bernardino Fire Department at (909) 384-5288.
