ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) -- Anaheim police arrested a man they described as a sexual predator who brought sex toys and video equipment to what he thought was to be a sexual encounter with a 14-year-old girl.

Instead, it was a sting operation that nabbed a suspect that police say has had multiple encounters with underage girls that he has met online.

The sting was set up after Anaheim police received a report of a sexual assault on an underage girl in March. Investigators created a fake online profile of a 14-year-old girl to set up a meeting with the suspect.

They say the man sent several photographs of his penis and offered to meet the girl for sex. Officers arrested the man, identified as Moonjun Kim, when he showed up for the meeting at a park in Anaheim.

Police say Kim brought sexual toys, condoms, lubricants and video recording equipment to the meeting.

The earlier complaint that triggered the investigation was about an alleged sexual assault in 2014 of a 13-year-old girl by a then-26-year-old man she had met through the text messaging app Friends Talk. The alleged assault was brought to police attention earlier this year.

Police say Kim met the girl at an Irvine mall and drove her to a residence in Orange County where he had sex with her.

After detectives set up the fake profile and arrested Kim, they say he admitted to other sexual encounters with underage girls that he communicated with using a variety of applications, including Friends Talk, LINE, We Talk, Kakao Talk, Facebook and Skype. Detectives say he always used the online names of MJ or Jun.

Kim is being held at Orange County Jail on $300,000 bail, police said.

Detectives asked anyone with information about other potential victims to contact Crime Stoppers at (855)TIP-OCCS or by email at www.occrimestoppers.org.
