Lines at some stores were long, but shoppers said it was worth the wait. Some even said they skipped Thanksgiving dinner or cut it short to start their shopping.

The mall's "Moonlight Madness" event offers 27 hours of non-stop shopping. The buying marathon kicked off Thursday at 8 p.m. and doors were set to stay open until 11 p.m. Friday.

By the end of the weekend, an estimated 200,000-300,000 shoppers will have visited the Citadel.
